The head coach speaks to the media following
Barça's defeat at the Sánchez Pizjuan; says
ten-minute lapse in the second half did all the
damage
"It was a game in which we had a lot of chances. It's almost unbelievable that we walk
out of here with just one goal," said FC Barcelona head coach Luis Enrique at his post-game press conference following his
team's 2–1 upset loss to Sevilla . The Barca coach chalked the defeat up to "ten minutes in the second half that hurt us." Sevilla, he lamented, "took advantage of the chances they
had."
"You have to congratulate Sevilla on their
effort and the final result," Luis Enrique continued, explaining that his team had plenty
of chances on the counter due to the way the
game played out. Nevertheless, he said, "Our
game is about controlling play." When asked
about chances created, the coach said, "We
don't have the best numbers but I'm sure that'll change in the coming games."
It's pretty obvious that Barça performed far better the last time the two sides met, in
August in the UEFA Super Cup. But, Luis Enrique said, this game was a very attractive
matchup between two teams who "play to win
and get the maximum number of points."
